Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) has been an established presence in Lancaster since 1944, and, at first glance of the “before”, their website looked to have been around almost as long. It was time for an update to more than the look and feel of the site. The branding felt dated, and the client confessed that managing their dozens of programs—and over 1,000 children in them—was clunky and mostly manually handled using an excessive number of hard-to-track spreadsheets.
I started our process with a deep dive on how their staff manages and handles program data, creating a map that showed slow and complicated points in the process. This helped us to narrow down their needs. Over the course of several months, we narrowed down from the hundreds of options and selected a program management system to incorporate into their new site and got it up and running.
The new site incorporates all standard branding with pops of bright color and contemporary, friendly type treatments, and motion effects to update the well-established CEF brand for their audience of web-savvy Gen Z parents, while keeping things simple for their donors from older generations.
